It has been a great start to 2007. We had a two week break to replenish our weariness and then re-opened with plenty of tourists visiting from far flung places. Thank goodness, because half of Canberra migrates to the south coast during the summer holidays.
The beginning of February has seen Marie Lund’s wonderful exhibition open. Marie gave the most touching and expressive artist talk at her high tea held after hours. You must visit/see/purchase her digital prints of old doors found throughout the Czech republic where she comes from originally.
This month we have new mirrors by Lightly. They are a much cooler take on grandma’s doilies laser cut from mirror perspex.
I have just got back from a sourcing trip to Adelaide. I have some fabulous laminate earrings coming by Meghann Jones and retro image iron on transfers by mandy. I am still following up some oxide ceramics and small layered ply side tables. I loved Adelaide and met such friendly helpful people, my favourites were One Small Room, Zu Design, Urban Cow and the Jam Factory.
