Hi everyone
Just letting you all know that Liana Kabel’s “Bloom” exhibition has been extended until the end of this week. She has made an amazing array of plastic jewellery including brooches for your wall to wear. Liana uses a lot of vintage plastics, including old tape measures, tupperware and found floral pieces from the 50s and 60s.
Liana has been awarded a CREATIVE SPARKS GRANT from the Brisbane City Council and Arts Queensland to continue to create and promote her fabulous jewellery.
I also wanted to let you know that the fabulous Rose Osborne, formerly “The Front” Gallery in Lyneham, is working at The Hive every Sunday and sometimes through the week as Exhibitions Coordinator. Welcome Rose. This reminds me that if you are interested in having an exhibition at The Hive, proposals need to be submitted to Rose or myself by the end of this month. You can see how to apply on the exhibitions page.
I have just come back from a trip overseas where I found some wonderful new contacts in Germany,
France and Holland for more beautiful products for The Hive. Hopefully I will have some of these products before Christmas.
We have so many new and beautiful products in The Hive that arrived while I was away. Miriam Gribble has made a beautiful new range of her sterling silver jewellery pieces incorporating her amazing Sublimation technique of printing onto aluminium. We have many new bags made with vinyl pictures, classic leather bags and fun fabric shoulder tie bags. We also have colourful leather rose rings in a range of colours. “Love” has sent us cute flocked letter pins for your hair and anodized ‘kissing duck’ earrings.
That’s all for now
Cheers Jenny
